Punk genres were in the dominance during the 1970’s and part of the 1980’s. They were a means of expressing political and personal perspectives in an aggressive and hard way. Music of the music was fast paced and more vocal than musical. It was a means of declaring a perspective that was not heard of before. Punk music has surfaced at times since, but has been related to other genres.
