From ArticleWorld
Derived from the Latin root "colere" which means "to inhabit, cultivate, or honor," the term "culture" often refers to the collective types and methods of activity in a given group, as well as their symbolic meanings. Anthropologists tell us that cultures are unique to the human experience, because of our ability to classify, codify and communicate our experiences symbolically, something that animals cannot do.
