Einstürzende Neubauten

In 1980, at the tender age of fifteen years, he joined Einstürzende Neubauten. He was there when the two core members left their prior band and formed Einstürzende Neubauten earlier the same year. Hacke played guitar and worked with the band's sound until the middle 1990’s.

During this same time he changed from guitar to bass, and is still mainly a bass player, and in the eyes of band leader Blixa Bargeld, Hacke is the musical director of the band.

Personal work

He has created two full albums and one EP. These are Hiroshima EP in 1982; Filmarbeiten in 1992; and Sanctuary in 2005. He has also been heavily involved in his wife’s work as an actress and winger. He had her sing with Blixa Bargeld in a duet for the song Stella Maris on the Einstürzende Neubauten album Ende Neu. This song is one of the mellowest songs ever done by the band and has had a positive response by the fans. If there will be more work for he is unknown at this point regarding the band.
