Industrialist

From ArticleWorld

The Industrialist is an individual that operates or controls an industrial business over a given timeframe. In the process he/she can gain a substantial income or political power. The industrialist is a person that becomes widely known in the community because of his involvement in the given industry or by philanthropy. The term itself is usually used in connection to what is considered “Old World Industries”. They refer to industries like steel, newspapers, oil and petrol, newspapers, rail transport or shipping. Nowadays other terms have taken the stage in showing the amount of power that the industrialist had. This translates in the fact that such individuals are no longer among the ones that gain the most amounts of money. Business Magnates and Tycoons have appeared and they have been involved in what is nowadays called “modern industries”. They are the ones that currently generate the most profit with other leading companies in the past having been surpassed by technical evolution in other fields of activity that were not as well developed in the past. The industrialist usually invests his own capital in a business and sees himself as an important person because he provides people with job offerings. This is why he/she does not consider himself/herself to be a capitalist. Famous Industrialists include Alfred Nobel, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Andrew Carnegie and Howard Hughes.
