A woman boards a plane with her daughter. During the flight, her daughter is lost. The woman can find her anywhere on the plane. The flight attendant claim the manifest does not indicate that she brought her daughter on the flight. In fact, they claim she’s made up the whole story.

Plot

An aeronautical engineer, Kyle Pratt(Jodie Foster)boards a plane with her daughter on a flight from Berlin bound for New York. During the flight her daughter is lost somewhere on the plane. Kyle searches everywhere, involves the whole crew in the search, but the daughter can’t be found.

Then, the attendants inform her that there is no record of her daughter boarding the plane. The captain refuses any further searches. Kyle is becoming a nuisance and he won’t have it. Kyke is sick with fear, desperation, and anger.

Everyone believes that Kyle is mentally unbalanced because her husband was recently killed. They say it’s all in her imagination. Kyle refuses to give up, though.

Resolution

For a while, Kyle begins to question her own sanity, but she snaps right back. She sneaks in various cargo areas to search. Since she is an engineer for the plane’s builder, she is familiar with the design of the craft. Nothing. Her panic has gotten every passenger upset. The air marshall(Peter Sarsgaard)threatens to restrain her. Nobody believes her at this point.

The pilot, attendants, and air marshall have concocted a scheme to take the child, create that doubt because they will threaten to explode the plane with explosives hidden in her husband’s coffin. They want to demand ransom of 50 million dollars in exchange for the plane’s safety.
