Math rock bands are bands that are based on mathematics in the music rather than form. Their music is formulated rather than expressed. This makes their music different and can also sound sterile. This is a style that has had some minor success and has come up with some interesting ideas with music, but is still lacking in the perception of many. Whether this genre will make the bridge to the next step or not is only something that will be seen.
