Japan is an island country located in the northen Pacific Ocean, east of China and Korea. It extends from Taiwan to the Sea of Okhotsk. 3,000 islands make up the land mass of the country. The biggest ones being Honshu, Shikoku, Hokkaido and Kyushu. Japan is one of the most important industrialized countries and the third-largest economy of the world. Tokyo, its capital, is the most populated metropolitan area in the world with more than 30 million people living in the city.
