Hybrid vehicles are special automobiles that combine more than one type of propulsion system to create motive power. Several models and prototypes have been built with all of them having several advantages and disadvantages. Also, hybrid vehicles can be differently categorized by the type of fuel or combinations used. These automobiles are put in two categories: series hybrids and parallel hybrids, with a mixture of the two being popular. New techniques and systems are being developed each year in a constant search of making the models better and more efficient.
