A horse is a large mammal, which is one of 10 species within the Equus genus. Horses may be wild or domesticated. Wild horses are known as Mustangs, brumbies or Kaimanawa horses. Domestic horses come in a variety of breeds to serve a variety of purposes. Competition horses may be ridden Western, English or side-saddle. Service horses may be used in the armed forces, law enforcement, for transportation or to plow farm land. Horses may be harnessed to carriages, sleighs or plows for transportation of people and goods, for pleasure or for farm work.
