The California Hotel and Casino, or lovingly referred to as the Cal, was built in 1975, and was the first Las Vegas property of what is now Boyd Gaming. A major player in casino ownership, Boyd Gaming owns establishments in Nevada, New Jersey, Louisiana, Illinois, Indiana and Mississippi. The California Hotel and Casino is one of three Boyd Gaming resorts in downtown Vegas.

The Hotel

The California Hotel has almost doubled in size since its inception. A premier property amidst Vegas’ Fremont Experience, the hotel boasts 781 spacious guests rooms, including 74 luxury suites.

Decked out in laid-back, yet elegant, Hawaiian décor, the Cal offers a taste of the tropics and an Aloha spirit. A guest at the Cal will feel rejuvenated and enchanted after escaping the maddening crowds in one of the tropical rooms.
