Plot

Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr are taking a trip on an ocean liner and fall in love. The problem is they are both involved with other people. They decide to when the trip is over to take some time to make sure they really are in love. So, they promise to reunite at the top of the Empire State Building in six months to see if they really are in love with each other. Unfortunately, Kerr character is hit by a car on the day of their meeting. Grant character is unaware of Kerr character’s accident and assumes that she does not love him. Kerr character refuses to contact Grant character for fear that he would feel obligated to her.

Music

The movie Affair to Remember had a theme song called Affair to Remember Our love Affair. The theme was written by Harry Warren. The lyrics were written by Leo McCarey and Harold Adamson. Vic Damone sings the song in the opening of the movie, while Marni Nixon voice is what movie goers heard when Kerr’s character sung the song later on in the film.
