Neutrogena

From ArticleWorld

Neutrogena is an American personal care product line.

Neutrogena products

Neutrogena manufacturers products for facial care, hair care and skin care. It also specializes in products that treat the onset of acne.

The products, which have been hawked by a variety of well-known spokespeople (including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mandy Moore, Josie Bissett, Kristin Kreuk and Mischa Barton), are sold internationally and entered the Australian market in early 2005. International consumers may be most familiar with its “Norwegian Formula,” moisturizing products for the hands and body.

Its acne care products are well known for their variety and effectiveness. It also has a positive reputation in the treatment of psoriasis and dermatitis.

History

Originally, Neutrogena was a maker of mild glycerin soaps. In 1980 it diversified into hair care products. At the time an independent company, it was purchased by Johnson & Johnson, a large American personal care company, in 1994. Today it is one of the biggest brands in Johnson & Johnson’s portfolio of personal care products.

It is headquartered in Los Angeles, Calif., U.S.

Feedback

As with any large product line, feedback on Neutrogena products is both positive and negative. Some people swear by them; other people insist they are ineffective and overpriced. The bottom line with any skin care product is to first test it on an area of one’s body to make sure it won’t cause redness or acne (or, worse, an allergic reaction) for a few days before using it on the desired area. If it works, then continue to use it. Skin care products are varied and different things work for different people.
