Mass is a property of a physical object. It refers to the amount of matter it contains. Many people confuse the term with “weight”. The main difference between them stands in the fact that mass remains the same. Location has no effect on changing its value as it does on weight. Three quantities receive the name of mass: active gravitational mass, passive gravitational mass and inertial mass. No experiment has proved the existence of differences between them.
