Biology is the study of life. It encompasses a wide range of fields that are all interrelated. Biology is concerned with all aspects of life. These include the study of evolution, diversity, and genetics and how organisms interact with each other and their environment. One central concept in biology is that all life on Earth came from a common ancestor and evolved into the diversity of organisms presently in existence. Some of the fields that fall under biology include zoology, botany, cell biology, genetics and ecology.
