In a future time, the survivors of a pandemic are under the thumb of a corporate power. He controls where and how they live. He is the master of their lives. The whole earth has been contaminated, so they trust him to maintain the status quo.

Plot

After an event that contaminates the earth, a corporate power named Merrick(Sean Bean)has everything and everyone under his grip. They are trapped in a land where they live functional lives. They only place they’re permitted to go is The Island, if they win the lottery. It’s supposed to be a paradise, and everyone hopes to be selected.

A woman, Jordan Two-Delta(Scarlett Johansson)has been selected to go. Her friend, Lincoln(Ewan McGregor)discovers the truth about “The Island,” and realizes that she and the whole population are being used. They are not human...they are all clones.

Resolution

Nobody returns from the place. It is a facility where their bodies are processed for parts. It is a giant factory, where clones are reassembled.

Jordan and Lincoln escape to the real world to expose how Merrick is using his company to process clones for parts for the very rich, and he’s destroying all life.

With the help of McCord(Steve Buscemi)they are on the run, trying to outwit Merrick and his very powerful allies, who are everywhere and have a stake in maintaing the status quo.

As they story progresses Jordan and Lincoln develop a romance which pushes the story because, now, their lives have become so important each other.
