PTP (band)

From ArticleWorld

PTP is the name of a band that released only two albums, and the first is a meshing of mind between two of the most profound industrial performers. PTP was later revealed to be an actual abbreviation for Programming the Psychodrill, which was taken after a collage by J.G. Ballard.

Jourgensen and Ogre

The band PTP was a side project that was mainly a passion of Jourgensen’s. The band made 3 popular songs and there was only one problem that this posed, the band only made 3 songs.

The first was Show Me Your Spine and was a collaboration between Jourgensen and Ogre. This song was in the movie Robocop, yet was never released on the soundtrack. The song itself was never released until 2004 when it appeared on Ministry’s Side Trax compilation. This song was manufactured mainly by Jourgensen with Ogre doing vocals.

Rubber glove seduction

Two years after the first release, Jourgensen decided to release a new song which was called Rubber Glove Seduction. Except this time he did it without Ogre. In Ogre’s stead was Chris Connelly. Connelly did the vocals and the song became a huge club hit. The monotone voice and the droning lyrics with the upbeat techno melody made a very unique and appealing tandum.

Four years later another release

In 1993, Jourgensen released an alternate version of Rubber Glove Seduction that had sped up vocals that were swirled through it. When slowed down these vocals granted commentary on the song itself. The song was called My Favorite Things.

What is left

In 2004, Jourgensen implied that PTP was a dead issue when he stated in an interview that he was going to be focusing his efforts on his three headed monster. Yet one year later he admitted that he had additional material from the PTP years that he was going to release. He mentioned it would be a B sides. Yet he already has one released and there is only one other song that lacks an official B side.

Then again, this is Jourgensen and he always has his own way of doing things. Only time will tell what he has in store with PTP and his other ventures.
