How to type in another language than Windows XP's default

From ArticleWorld

Windows XP often has the bad habit of assuming that the language you use for its interface is also the one that you use to type. If you do not have a localized version of Windows XP, this is often not what you want. Here is how to change it:

Steps

  1. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel. From the Date, Time, Language and Regional Options choose Add other languages
  2. If you plan to install an Asian language, make sure that the checkbox labeled Install files for East Asian Languages is checked.
  3. Click the Details button, and select Add... in the new window.Choose the language you want to install and click OK. Click Apply in the window with the language list, and then Apply in the first window.

Notes

This procedure may require you to have the Windows XP CD at hand, as it may attempt to copy some files. It may also be useful to change your keyboard map to one appropriate for the new language, if Windows does not do that by default.
