How to minimize all open windows in Windows without the Windows button

From ArticleWorld

Minimizing all open windows on the desktop is quite a problem if your keyboard does not have a Windows key. If you have one, the shortcut is Windows + D. But what if you do not have one? Windows offers a convenient way of minimizing all open windows using a taskbar button. The button is available and enabled by default.

Steps

If the "Show Desktop" button is available, you can click on it to minimize all the windows and get to the desktop. However, if the Show Desktop button does not appear, you have two choices.

The first one is enabling the Quick Launch toolbar. The Show Desktop button may be available, but hidden, since it is a part of the Quick Launch toolbar. Right-click on the taskbar, go to Toolbars and select "Quick Launch".

If it does not show, then go through the following steps:

1. Open a plain-text editor (Notepad will do) and type the following:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

2. Save the file to the desktop, naming it "ShowDesktop.scf" (use the All Files option in the Save As dialog so that the file does not get a ".txt" extension appended).

3. Drag the file from the desktop to the Quick Launch toolbar.
