From ArticleWorld

First of all, to make the perfect snowman, there are a few things that you will need.

What you need

  • Snow, you will need lots of snow. Not just any kind of snow, you need the sticky snow.
  • Find two lumps of coal. Charcoal briquettes work wonderfully.
  • Raid the fridge for a big fat carrot, not to long though.
  • Two red licorice whips
  • One extra long scarf and an old hat.

When you have all of the necessary materials, it is time to play!

What to do

  • To make the base of the snowman, scoop as much snow as you can to form a big ball. Pack it really hard and keep adding more. Remember, this is the base for your snowman; it has to be big so it will support the rest of the snowman.
  • To make the body of the snowman, repeat the last step only make the ball slightly smaller. Make sure that the snow is packed really hard or it will fall apart.
  • Use a shovel to raise the snowball body and place it on the base. Make sure that it is centered so it doesn't fall off. Take some snow and use it as glue and smooth it out all around the base and the body.
  • When you start to make the head of the snowman, remember that there is going to be a lot on it, make it in proportion to the body.

Put it on the body just like you did with the body.

  • Carefully place the two lumps of coal on the face of the snowman. These are the eyes.
  • Place the Carrot in the center just below the eyes. This is the nose.
  • Take the two licorice whips and twist them together. Place on the face of the snowman just below the nose, in a smiling position,
  • Place the hat on the snowman's head and the scarf around his neck.
  • Additional lumps of coal may be added to the snowman's body to add the appearance of buttons.
  • It is important to remember to dress warmly when you are outdoors making your snowman. You will be out in the snow for hours, wear a jacket, gloves and a hat to prevent frostbite and illness.
