How to engage employees at a Christmas party

From ArticleWorld

When working in a big office, often employees do not have time to socialize with the person sitting at the desk across from them. A company Christmas party is the perfect time to get to know the people you work with.

  • Nametags are always good conversation starters. Is it not great when you talk to someone for about an hour and a half and not even ask him or her what his or her name is! This is why the nametags are good.
  • Play some games. Though you are adults, you can still play a game. You should write everyone’s name on a piece of paper and then pick them and put them into different groups. They should rotate so everyone gets to know each other.
  • Sit around and have everyone give a brief description of themselves. They can say their hobbies, jobs, and backgrounds.
  • Introduce different people to each other.
  • Directly approach someone that you see and might be interesting getting to know better and speak to them.
  • Go up to the food table while someone else is up there and then start to talk about the items on the table and then start into another conversation.
  • Almost everyone who is at the party knows at least one other person there, they will also help to introduce people.
  • Go up to a couple of people who just met each other and ask how the party is going and if they are enjoying themselves.
  • People like to talk to everyone. Do not put all the males in one group and the females in another. Mix everyone up.
