How to chose a movie that the whole family may watch
From ArticleWorld
To Chose a Movie that the Whole Family May Watch is not such a difficult task if one exercises patience and perseverance. A good family movie may be defined as one that appeals to all members of the family from the four year-olds right to their grand parents. There is a lot of junk out there on television as well as theatres these days, so one needs to be careful when renting or buying a movie to watch with the whole family. Here are some suggestions that one may follow.
[edit]
A few thumb rules
- Watch the reviews of the film before you rent it. All PG-13 movies may not be necessarily PG-13 in terms of language.
- Get a language filter which wipes out all the bad language from a film so that you may safely rent it.
- In some cases you may ask a someone who has already watched the movie, and whose advice you can rely on, if the movie is worth watching with the family.
- These days even some movies that are made for children may contain scenes and language that you generally would not allow your children to watch, so be prepared.

Do’s
- Do take care to see that the movie is rated PG-13 before you rent it. Don’t be gullible enough to believe your 11 year old.
- You may want to rush through the scenes (alone) as a check before giving the green signal for a movie. It might spoil your actual movie but is better than shifting in your seat or switching off the television half way through the movie.
[edit]
Don’ts
- Don’t be blackmailed by your children about watching a movie that you are not sure about. Remember stuff that they are not supposed to watch remains in their memories long after the rest has been forgotten.
