Theorems are propositions or statements in mathematics that are demonstrated using postulates or assumptions. A theorem consists of two parts, the first being a set of postulates, axioms or assumptions and the second being the conclusion drawn from the first part. Some of the well-known theorems in mathematics are the Pythagorean theorem in geometry, the divergence theorem in calculus and the fundamental theorem of algebra in complex analysis.
