Ribonucleic acid or RNA is a nucleic acid made up of repeating nucleotide subunits. It is a bio-macromolecule also classified as a polymer. RNA is composed of nucleotides that vary from DNA in two major ways. These are that they contain ribose rings and unlike DNA uracil is the base that is paired adenine. RNA polymerases transcribe RNA from DNA. RNA serves a vital role in the translation of genes into proteins by moving the relevant amino acids to the ribosome to create the protein.
