California is a major state of the United States of America, located on its Western coast. Its capital is Sacramento but the largest city is Los Angeles and the state housed over 30 million people in 2000, with a constant increase in the number of inhabitants. California was founded as a result of the Mexican-American war in 1846. Economically speaking the region is very powerful, being considered the sixth largest economy in the world in 2005, with agriculture being the main industry.
