Berlin is the name of the capital city of Germany. In 1949 and until 1990, Berlin was divided in two: West and East Berlin. This made it possible for it to become one of the most culturally rich cities in the world and eventually transformed in a crossroad for states that want to become a part of the European Union. Many important European Universities and tourist attractions can be found here, making the capital one of the most visited towns in the continent.
