Australian suffragists were social, political and economic reformers who fought women’s suffrage, that is, the right to vote. Suffragists are peaceful protestors compared to suffragettes who take a more violent stance. Australian suffragists were an amazing group of men and women who achieved major reforms for women and children at a time when they were without any rights at all; achieving changes from the 1850’s onward.
