Alternative music groups are the ones that survived the New Wave and the grunge rush and created a diverse and unique genre that is not directly linked with either. There are a variety of bands that fit in this one genre and have a range of talent and styles that would make this one genre one that may be considered a crossover genre. The music here has been around since the 1990’s and shows that is will be around for some time to come. Many of the bands in this genre are well established and seem unlikely to fade out or to be forced to do some sort of overhaul.
