The Baby Einstein line of products was first developed in 1997 by Julie Aigner-Clark. The objective of the line is to promote language and learning growth among children from birth to six years of age. The first product developed was a VHS/DVD originally named Baby Einstein and was later retailed as Language Nursery. The video highlighted multiple toys, classical music, stories, languages, words and numbers. Because of its popularity, the video began to retail across the United States.

The Walt Disney Company

In 2001, the Walt Disney Company saw opportunity in the Baby Einstein product that had become a multi-million dollar franchise. It then became a subsidiary of Disney with an increased budget and better marketing capabilities. The ideas and concepts were expanded to more multifaceted ones. Baby MacDonald was one of these new concepts. It was designed to teach children about agriculture.

Little Einsteins

Little Einsteins is an animated series based on the Baby Einstein concepts that debuted on the Disney Channel in 2005. Created by Eric Weiner, the creator of Dora the Explorer has proven to be a big hit. Each episode features classical music by renowned musicians including Mozart and Bach as well as famous artwork from Picasso, and Van Gogh. The show began as a video movie entitled Our Huge Adventure. There are currently about 20 episodes that can be seen during the Playhouse Disney portion of the Disney Channel lineup.
