Advertising slogan

From ArticleWorld

Advertising slogans are catchy words or phrases that help consumers remember a particular promoted product or service. Advertising slogans are usually one, two or three word phrases, or short sentences.

Ad campaigns often make claims about the quality, price, or nutrition of a product. Other ads slogans will convince a customer that the service or product that is being sold is right for them, or it targets a particular group of people. For example, the slogan "choosy moms choose Jiff" convinces mothers that if they really care about their kids they will buy Jiff peanut butter for their kids

Advertising slogans are known as one of the most effective ways to advertise. This is true because they are catchy, and easy to remember. For example, who could ever forget 'Silly Rabbit! Trix are for kids!'? This ad has not even been on the television in quite awhile, but it still rings in the minds of those who remember it.

Another example is the slogan "Be All You Can Be" which is a slogan used to recruit people to join the army. This slogan suggests that in order for someone live the fullest potential, and for one to feel good about him or herself, then that person must join the army. This targets a group of people who may not have a goal or direction in mind, so this ad convinces them that they are what the army needs.

Advertising Legality

Advertising slogans are subject to approval, to make sure that they do not violate copyright laws, or offend anybody. For example, an advertising agency must be careful when using brand names of other companies in the use of an advertising campaign. Usually it is best to get permission from that other company.

Some companies will use a made up generic "leading brand" label in order to play it safe. However, other companies use competitors' names in their ads, but they usually secure permission from the rightful owner of that competitor brand.

Additionally, limits are place on what can be advertised, and how so meting is advertised. For example, cigarette commercials are no longer allowed on the air, and extremely offensive language is forbidden in advertising as well.

It is best for a company to use scrutiny when designing a new advertising slogan for an ad campaign. A company that has an honest slogan is also most likely to run an honest business.
