Telecommuting is a term coined by Jack Nilles in the 1970s. With the advancement of communications technologies, telecommuting is becoming increasingly popular in developed nations. In Europe, telecommuting is offered called “eWork.” Telecommuters, people who are based in areas (usually homes) outside the traditional office setting, usually enjoy flexible hours. They also replace their dialing commute by simply logging on to the Internet or picking up the phone. For employers, telecommuters are often less expensive and more expandable than traditional employees. The work of telecommuters can vary from telecommunications to web site design to writing to much more.
