The term Prophet is used to designate a person who spreads God’s word, in other terms, God’s messenger. A prophet is one who communicates with God and under His instructions, teaches the common man the correct path of life. This process of receiving messages is termed as revelation or a prophecy. These terms are synonymous in this context. Most Christians believe that prophets have the power to foretell future occurrences. However, The Hebrew Bible does not contain any predictions, only holy messages.
