Medical sociology, like medical anthropology, is really the sociology or anthropology of medicine. This includes people's understanding of good health and the processes needed to maintain it, definitions of illness and disease, their decisions as individuals, communities, and societies regarding healthcare, perceptions of threats to good health, and behavioural, social, and economic decisions and interventions related to them.
