Christianity is the largest monotheistic religion in the world and is built around the life, actions and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth (also known as Jesus Christ). Christianity is divided in three main branches:
- Catholicism - the largest religious body, with the most followers.
- Eastern Christianity (known as Orthodox).
- Protestantism - formed of several groups but with a common base when it comes to the teachings it promotes.
In Christianity God is seen as an eternal being that existed as three persons (Trinity): Father, Son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit.
