How to start a tradition starting with baby's first Christmas

From ArticleWorld

Christmas is a very special time of year. It is even more special when you are sharing it for the first time with your new baby.

Decide on the tradition

  • The first thing you should do is to decide on the traditions that you want to start.
  • Think back to your own childhood and the traditions that your parents did with you. Traditions are past down throughout the generations.

Storing your memories

  • Find a box to keep your memories in; they will be treasured in years to come. Decorate the box any way you want, but put your baby's name on it.

Record your memories

  • Decorate the Christmas tree with the accomplishments your baby has made throughout the year. Hang the "baby's first Christmas" bulb where it can be seen. Make sure there are plenty of bright blinking lights of different colors on the tree.
  • When you are ready to plug in the Christmas tree, make sure you have a camcorder ready to capture the moment on your baby's face. You will have on video the sheer fascination as her or she takes in every light. This will be the first time in his or her life that a Christmas tree will be seen.
  • Keep the camcorder on record, for Christmas dinner if our baby is old enough. Record his or her first experience with food.
  • When you are ready to take down your tree, carefully package all of the memories. Please the breakables in bubble wrap, and the rest in sealed plastic bags. Place all of the items in the decorated box and seal it.

Capturing these memories on video will give you and your child something to look back on in years to come.
