How to plan your child’s birthday party

From ArticleWorld

To plan your child’s birthday party can be fun and stress free if you arrange it well ahead and do things in advance. It is always fun to organize a party for a child. There are no formalities, you can get as creative as you want, and children are so easy to please. Then again such parties give you an excuse to let your hair down and have some fun yourself. Another good thing about a child’s birthday party is that even if you are on a shoe string budget, it makes very little difference to the festivities. Here are some hints to help you put together a birthday party for kids.

A few suggestions

  1. The first thing you need to do is to decide a theme of the party. Your child might want a cartoon character theme or a Barbie doll theme or maybe a dinosaur or a Dracula party. Fix a theme and then you can go on to the next step.
  2. Make invites cut in the shape of the cartoon character or dinosaur (the theme that you have decided upon) and hand deliver them for a more personal touch.
  3. Keep a list of the invitees so as to know how much food you need to prepare and how many goody bags you need to fill. Make some extra goody bags, just in case.
  4. Also, make a list of things that you are cooking or getting together; remember children are happiest with simple food like hamburgers and macaroni and cheese.
  5. If you have children of different ages coming to the party then you might need to put different things in different goody bags, like for a toddler a toy and candy would be cool while a slightly older child might prefer crayons or a jigsaw puzzle. Color code the goody bags so that each child gets things according to his/her age.

Do’s

  • Look for new party games on the net or stick to old games like tail the donkey and Simon says, which are always great fun.
  • Remember to keep small prizes for the children who win at the games.

Don’ts

  • Don’t put toys that small babies can choke on, in the goody bags.
