House (astrology)
From ArticleWorld
The western astrologers divide the natal chart into twelve Houses. The time and place of birth are of prime importance. These houses actually signify the divisions of the sky both visible and the invisible part that lies hidden by the earth. There are many different theories regarding the method of calculation of divisions.
Old astrologers used the word house as a synonym for rulership. The houses in a natal chart are said to be the ‘departments of life’. They play an important role in the shaping the character and fate of a person.
