Golf carts are vehicles that have been originally used to carry two golfers and their equipment, with the purpose of making the trip faster and with less effort. We can easily see that this changed and, nowadays, golf carts are being used to transport a number of people on short distances and with slow speeds. Most golf carts are electrical but you may find models that run on gas as well. Also, you should know that it was the first electrical vehicle to be produced and sold to common customers. Other electrical vehicles were created before but their use was limited to specific tasks and, in most cases, factories used them. People simply did not need them for leisure activities. They were used for work.

Utility Vehicles

As golf carts are very popular, manufacturers are currently using a “trick” that you should know about. These machines are sometimes bought for movement outside the golf course. This is why it was obvious that the next step would be the creation of vehicles that are especially built for this purpose. That's how utility vehicles appeared. Although very similar with golf carts, there are similarities that can be found when talking about carrying capacity. Utility vehicles can carry more weight than golf carts. Speaking about the design we can easily say that the two are very similar.

Because of this similarity, some manufacturers are currently using the term “golf carts” to include their utility vehicles as well. The reason behind this move was that everybody knows about golf carts and only few people know about utility vehicles. This is why you have to be attentive when you buy such a vehicle. Be sure to fully understand if it meets your needs or you might need to buy something else. This approach will not only save you time but money as well.
