Elements of the Zodiac

Traditionally speaking the Elements of the zodiac are four in number. They are Fire, Earth, Air And Water.

FIRE – Fire rules the zodiac signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. They are characterized by a fiery nature. Enthusiasm loaded with energy is their distinguishing feature. They are spontaneous by nature and also self-dependant. They do not rely on anybody to fulfill their needs. They are romantics at heart. If threatened, they can be very domineering and persuasive to the point of discomfort.

EARTH – Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are ruled by the Earth element. They are practical people and very dependable by nature. Passion is inherent and they prove to be excellent friends. They are introverts and can be very sensual when drawn out. They give a lot of importance to materialism sometimes crossing over to it being a negative quality. They do not have an active social life as they concentrate more on achievement of goals, hence they may appear boring.

AIR – The zodiac signs ruled by the element of Air are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Effective communication is their strong point. They may be intellectual bordering on the scholarly, and keen on matters which are above materialistic pleasures. They are objective by nature and have a broad perspective. They are also very rational and judicious. On the other hand, they may show signs of coldness and impracticality.

WATER – Water rules the remaining zodiac signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. These people are emotionally very receptive. A strong intuitive sense and an approachable nature makes them desirable as friends. They are subject to unusual mood swings and are influenced by the atmosphere around them. On the negative side, they may indulge in excessive self – pity and tend to be hedonistic.
