There have been a number of Deaths in the Harry Potter series which include wizards, muggles and magical creatures. They are listed chronologically :

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
- James & Lily Potter – Murdered on 31st October, 1981 by Lord Voldemort
- Professor Quirrell – Served as a host for Voldemort and died when Voldemort abandoned his body.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- Moaning Myrtle – Was killed by a Basilisk at Hogworts
- The Basilisk – Harry Potter killed it by plunging a sword into the roof of its mouth
- Part of Voldemort’s soul – The diary horcrux, represented as a teenage Tom Riddle was destroyed by Harry with a basilisk fang.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
- Binky – A rabbit owned by Lavender brown (a student). The death was said to be predicted by Professor Trelawney.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Bertha Jorkins – Murdered by Lord Voldemort
- Frank Bryce – Muggle murdered by Lord Voldemort with the Avada Kedavra curse
- Barty Crouch – Murdered by his own son Barty Courch Jr.
- Cedric Diggory - Killed by Peter Pettigrew (on Voldemort’s orders) with the Avada Kedavra curse
- Barty Crouch Jr. – Kissed by a Dementor. Alive technically but without a soul.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Broderick Bode – Strangled by Devil’s Snare (disguised as a pot plant) sent by Lucius Malfoy
- Sirius Black – Killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, his cousin. She uttered a spell which caused him to fall thorugh the gateway between the living and the dead at the Department of Mysteries

Harry Potter and the Half – Blood Prince
- Part of Voldemort’s soul – The ring horcruxwas destroyed by Albus Dumbledore.
- Amelia Bones – Brutally killed by Lord Voldemort
- Emmeline Vance — Murdered by Peter Pettigrew (on Lord Voldemort's orders)
- Hannah Abbott's mother — Killed by Death Eaters
- Igor Karkaroff — Murdered by Death Eaters
- A five year old boy — Killed by the werewolf Greyback because his mother would not join them.
- Aragog — Died of old age
- Gibbon — Came in the way of one of the Killing Curses the "huge blond Death Eater" was firing everywhere.
- Albus Dumbledore — Killed by Severus Snape, using the Avada Kedavra curse at the Battle at Hogwarts.

Other Deaths
- Nicholas Flamel and his wife Perenelle – As confirmed by Dumbledore, they died shortly after the destruction of the Philosopher’s Stone.
