One of the problems of the World Wide Web's non-centralized architecture is the lack of ability to find and index information. Two trends have developed in this field: automatic indexing, based on keywords and spidering, and manual indexing, organizing websites into what is known as a directory.
Web directories gather many websites belonging to a certain field and index them according to certain criteria. The final product is a set of web pages known that allow relevant information to be found easily.
