Parades are organized processions of people along one or more streets. They are usually wearing costumes and can be accompanied by floats and lighter than air balloons. In most cases a parade is a celebration but can be held for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the term is confused with some marches. This is because protest demonstrations sometimes have the characteristics of parades. The most famous parades are held in connection with Mardi Gras.
