One Day cricket is a limited overs version of the standard 4 day test match cricket match. One-day matches are limited to 50 overs of batting for each team, in which time teams must attempt to score as many runs as possible to either create a large target or to overtake the score of the opposing team. In one-day cricket teams are subject to fielding restrictions, to give the batting team more opportunity to score and to make the matches more exciting for the audience.
