Nutrition studies food and how its consumption relates to health and disease. The two extremes are obesity and optimal health and starvation or malnutrition and in between are a number of states of health that can be caused by – or alleviated by – alterations in one’s diet. One can boost nutrition with dietary supplements and improve or alter nutrient intake by dieting. Healthy eating and a sensible diet are the best way to improve nutrition, and therefore health. There are a variety of viewpoints relating to the maintenance of proper nutrition.
