Military marches have been created through the course of history, but the true genre wasn’t born until the early 1900’s in the United States. Military marches and the music related made leaps and bounds from the drumming of the Civil War to the band performed compositions of Sousa. John Phillip Sousa has been labeled as the March King and has proven it with a vast array of Marching compositions and even the United States Military March song, Stars and Stripes Forever.
