From ArticleWorld
Management is often used in the context of businesses or non-profits. It describes the process of balancing, manipulating, and deploying all the resources – human, financial, mechanical, analytical – available to an organization in order to maximize efficiency, output, service levels, and loyalty. Management also relates to adaptability to changing conditions, or tracking a situation or quantity on a regular basis. There are many theories about management in organizations, as well as underlying principles. All of this information, knowledge, and theorizing has been systematized into a quasi-science taught at business schools or management schools.
