Japanese ingredients can be salty, spicy, or sweet. It just depends on an individual’s taste buds. No matter what type of meat is used in Japanese cuisine, almost every dish has some vegetables in it. Many Japanese dishes have some kind of fish in them. Typical Japanese ingredients include: rice, noodles, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, shrimp, eggs, beans, octopus, eel, horse, and chicken. Some other ingredients that could be in Japanese cuisine are: persimmon, chestnuts, mikian, and yuzu.
