The term humanitarians referred to the people who are concerned with the welfare of humans and take action to benefit a particular cause, which has no political or business advantage. Though holding office in order to promote a humanitarian cause is included in the definition. Humanitarian is not to be confused with humanism where the later is a cultural movement promoting a rational system of thought, stressing the importance of human matters over divine issues.
