Heuristics is the process, often unplanned and unconscious, of learning or arriving at solutions to problems through detailed exploration and investigation. One solution or fact or discovery opens or closes another, and eventually you gather a range of knowledge and experience, all of which encourages invention and innovation. Colloquially and in business, this is also called trial and error.
