Dances of India are indicative of the wide array of cultures and beliefs. Hence there are at least as many dance forms. Every region of India has its own unique dance with which it can be identified. The more popular of these localized dance forms have crossed the barriers of region and are imitated throughout the country. Like the Bhangra, Dandiya, Kuchipudi, Bharat Natyam, etc. the classical dances are mostly from south Indian states and regions. Of late the influence of films and foreign culture can be seen in the Indian dances.
