Computer Vision is a subcategory of Artificial Intelligence and deals with the computer analizes of image content or any other multidimensional data. Information is extracted and then presented to a human operator or used for controlling a certain application. Computer Vision software usually solve a task based on pre-programming although programs that "learn" are becoming widely spread. The study of the field started around 1970 and is currently an important part of Artificial Intelligence.
